The poor kid just had surgery and anesthesia, he feels like shit -- quite possibly the worst he's felt in his entire short life -- and asks in anguish, "Is this gonna be forever?" And his father laughs at him.
The father should be castrated so he doesn't cause any more misery in the world.

Oh, don't be so precious. The boy is hardly in anguish -- he's just really, really spaced out. It's not as though the father is laughing -at- the boy's pain. He's laughing because it's really funny. And it really is. Tomorrow the kid will wake up perfectly fine and the entire car trip will be the vaguest memory, if that.

And that can't feel like shit? My (the OP) point is that this is a child who is suffering (even if "only" emotionally). He is obviously disoriented, upset, and fearful. This is not the time for Dad to be laughing in the kid's face, even if he thinks it's funny.

True, but then again, why would you need stitches if all you're doing is pulling a tooth? I've had two teeth pulled and all they did was leave the gaping hole to self-heal.
Maybe he had some serious mouth surgery that required harder drugs?

Anyone who is saying that this guy is being mean to his child is an Idiot. First off, he has stitches, which in your mouth are the worst(think wisdom teeth). He was probably on the drug for wisdom teeth anyways. Second, you don't friggin' feel pain when you are on anesthetics, you just feel weird. His question about is this going to last forever is a good one, as you have no idea what is going on. This guy is not a jerk!
