Firefighters Save Woman From Fire By Changing the Channel

An elderly woman in Zurich mistook a fire on her television for the real thing and called the fire department to save her. The firemen found her TV tuned to a German station that airs the constant image of a fireplace in the early morning. "The fire was extinguished with the press of a button," police said in a statement. I wonder who she would have called if she had accidentally tuned into a Godzilla marathon.

    After the fire department left, she no doubt called to the police regarding the tiny humanoids invading her home. Lucky that glass wall stopped them long enough for the cops to arrive!

    had the batteries backward in the smoke detector and the sticker on the back said "call 911" so she did. We had to go out and switch the batteries over for her.

      are you sure she didn't just use that as an excuse to get you to change her batteries?

      Could be worse ... one woman tried to sue a local sex shop because she claimed her dildo impregnated her when the batteries leaked.

    Being Swiss it seems kind of funny that WE haven't heard anything about this supposed incident.
