Neighbors Beg Woman to Stop Feeding Vultures
Marie Ripley's neighbors have a simple request. Please stop feeding the vultures. Over 60 of them have taken up roost in the neighborhood since Mrs. Ripley starting providing them chicken and ground beef. Requests from the Montpelier Community Association to stop feeding the birds have so far fallen on deaf ears.
...you need all those vultures to clean up the bubble gum-eating squirrels.
... or kill them.
If they are Black/Turkey Vultures then I don't think they are protected.
Personally I would first try getting a good fire going near were they rest and smoke 'em out. Birds are very sensitive to air quality. If you do that enough then they won't roost there any more.
If that doesn't work then kill them. Big birds like this can be incredibly damaging and even dangerous (these birds carry some of the nastiest bacteria and other organisms you can imagine).
This was on our local radio station over a year ago. The boy is autistic or something. The boy loves the birds but they are nasty critters.
