Funeral Home Offers Drunk Drivers a Free Burial

A funeral home in Rome, Georgia has decided to give back to the community this holiday season by offering free burials to impaired drivers who die in accidents. Between now and noon Thursday, you can sign a contract stating you plan to drink or take drugs and then drive on New Year's Eve. If you are lucky enough to be in a fatal accident, McGuire, Jennings and Miller Funeral Home will pay for your funeral. Services included in the package are a casket, grave, limousine and preparation of remains.

Wouldn't suicidal people sign up for this and take them to the cleaners?

I suspect suicidal people would be much more likely to take advantage of this new-fangled lottery scheme known as "life insurance". You do know that part of the fee for every death certificate goes to pay burial expenses for the indigent, don't you?

Nearly any insurer will require a 2 year suicide clause or something to the effect. All the beneficiary would get would be any premiums paid to that point - assuming there were any.
