World's Longest Live TV Program
FaxeTheCat writes "The Norwegian Public broadcaster is doing a five-and-a-half-day, around-the-clock broadcast from the coastal liner 'Hurtigruten.' Not only is this (according to them) the world's longest direct TV broadcast, the material will be made available as torrents with a Creative Commons license, and there is a 'mashup' competition. Not your average action show, but if you like fjords and mountains and a slow pace, this may be just the thing for you."
This is the anti thesis of modern MTV-style tele vision.
And the whole frickin nation is watching. Locals are standing around on beaches waving with flags and bed linnens. NRK is reporting up to 1.3 mil viewers. In Noway that is 21% market share. For what is essentialy a webcam stream...
I don't know if this makes me extremely proud to be a Norwegian or extremely embarrased.
Nice boat.

From the inside of a polar-bear-proof suit.

Wanna cudle iceberg!

Birds are not dinosaur descendants;birds are dinosaurs, for all useful meanings of "birds", "are" and "dinosaurs"
