Netflix Open-Sources Security Incident Management Tool

alphadogg writes: Netflix has released under an open-source license an internal tool it developed to manage a deluge of security alerts and incidents. Called FIDO (Fully Integrated Defense Operation), the tool is designed to research, score and categorize threats in order to speed up handling of the most urgent ones.

    Looks like most of it is written in C#. I suspect it will have limited appeal to the /. crowd.

      Not a big fan of C# (I used it to develop a program a few years ago, so it may be better now), but it still may be fun to look through for interesting patterns and methodologies though.

      I love C#. I can understand why some people may not like Visual Studio or Mono's prior limited support. I love the language and .Net framework.

    I'd kill to have the need for correlation of data from many security alerts. Two hardly functional snort instances already generate complaints due to the amount of CPU they burn.

    (never take a job as the only person in the security department)
