The Wrap - Google's IoT strategy, killing robocalls, solar plane stuck
On The Wrap this week Google outlines its home automation strategy, the FCC wants to stop robocalls and a Solar Impulse 2 is stuck in China. Follow host Nick Barber on Twitter @nickjb
Solar Impulse 2 is stuck in Japan.
The reason: no sun to recharge batteries.
That will last for several weeks since Japan is in it's monsoon June weather pattern!
So what's a handy Solar Impulse 2 engineer to do? That the subway to Akihabara and visit Yodobashi Electronics Store.
There at Yodobashi our waterlogged engineer can find a Honda diesel power electric generator, extra cabling, solder and a soldring gun in addition to the latest games for XboxOne, PS4 and PCs.
Back at the airport inside Solar Impulse 2 our engineer and jury-rig the diesel generator up, load up a few gallons of diesel, fire up the generator and Off they go into the rainy wild blue wonder lickety split.
Just goes to show the usefulness of solar during a rainy month.
