A Chat With the Author of 'Abacus to smartphone: The evolution of mobile and portable computing' (Video)

The last time we spoke with Evan Koblentz it was about a vintage computer festival. This time we talked about a book he's written written titled Abacus to smartphone: The evolution of mobile and portable computing. Yes, he's obsessed with computer history. But somebody has to be, and we're glad it's Evan because he is eminently suited for this task.

    I hope this will dispel once and for all the myth that we only have computers because of space, a common Space Nutter "talking point/religious doctrine".

    Computers were useful in and of themselves before we needed to impress our enemies with test pilots on top of explosive metal tubes.

      That's not a haiku you fucking imbecile. A haiku follows a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. I bet you didn't finish high school. You probably dropped out because you were a weirdo nobody liked. I'm sure you posted during your 15 minute break at Burger King.

      I never claimed it was a haiku. Rather, it was the foreword to the book I'm writing about you.
