Wonder Boy Remake Finally On The Way (grabitmagazine.com)
SlappingOysters writes: Sega has a number of fan favorite IP locked away in its vault, and one is about to be let out after a 27-year hiatus. Lizardcube has announced a remake of Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap for PC and consoles, which originally appeared on the Sega Master System in 1989. The game has a striking, modern visual style, but retains the classic story and gameplay. Lizardcube was founded by ex-developers of Media Molecule and Dreamworks, and the original game's creator, Ryuichi Nishizawa, is also on board. You can watch the reveal trailer here.
Can't wait for that.
I can't say I've seen any recently. Do they still make them?
What language is that supposed to be?
At the bottom of the
Try Dead Pool. It's a nice change.
You didn't even read TFSummary "for PC and consoles"
No... they did..
Is the Venture Brothers going to have to change his name?
I'm trying to teach myself to set people on fire with my mind... Is it hot in here?
I thought it said Wonderbread.
Faster! Faster! Faster would be better!
Yup, the entertainment industry is completely out of original ideas, so they'll keep shoving the same recycled crap down your throats over and over again. The sheeple seem to just lap it up too.

You are welcome on my lawn.
I fucking hate niggers and kikes. The biggest problem with the Holocaust is that not all Jews were extrrminated. Hillary 2016.
Maybe my memory is a bit fuzzy, but wasn't the main character in Wonder Boy... you know, a boy? What's with the mouse, dragon and bird? How is that still Wonder Boy?
Great to see this labor of love getting completed! Can't wait to play it!
If this works out, I'd love to see updated version of other Westone games. :D

General Relativity: Space-time tells matter where to go; Matter tells space-time what shape to be.
The only "striking" part is that instead of careful animation (which has been a progressively improving standard in the Wonder Boy/Monster Land/Monster World series) and higher detailed sprites (more light/shadows, not cheap ambidextrous sprites, etc), we're seeing all the "striking" work of animators who apparently have never worked on anything more detailed than a flash game.
But, yea, that's where "modern visual style" kicks in. Looks more like ass. Looks like something *I* could draw. Honestly, there are so many great game makers out there (Wayforward is a good example and so is GalaxyTrail) that really, one should just pass on this shit. Hell, even something like Curse of the Crescent Island DX would be a better homage to the Wonder Boy line even with all its many faults (and more limited backgrounds).
Maybe I'd be less harsh if they focused on the game play. Oh, right, if you want the game play you should just play the original. So, yea, fuck this remake.
I was always a little under impressed by Super Metroid because I'd played WBIII and experienced that kind of exploration gameplay back on my Sega Master System. Heck, I still think it's the most underrated game of the 8bit era. I hope Monster Boy is still coming though. The blog's still active but it was basically a spiritual successor. I could go for 2 Wonderboy games myself but not sure if everybody can so I hope this anouncement doesn't hurt the other games sales. If you're reading this buy both :).
Hi! I make Firefox Plug-ins. Check 'em out @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-mp3-podcaster/
Fucking goy...
I didn't want to be negative, when I saw the news I got super thrilled since WB3 is one of my absolute favorite games. However, I have to say it looked pretty generic, much like your average freemium game on iOS.
Maybe I just got put off by all the cutesiness, I dunno. Am I just being old and bitter?
Actually, I'm tired of the endless parade of ${RETREAD}+socjus movies.
I've seen what they did to Sonic. I don't want to see this being done to Wonderboy. If that's what you have in mind, just do what you should have done with Sonic: Take him out to the shed and pet his head while you cock the gun and close your eyes.
We used to have a Bill of Rights. Now, with the rights gone, all we have left is the bill.
Why the sudden poplarity of the wonderboy franchise? First the MonsterBoy semi-official game, and now this remake. I must say monster boy does look a lot better and more promising than this.
