Facebook To Use Photo-Matching To Block Repeat 'Revenge Porn' (aol.com)

An anonymous reader quotes a report from AOL: Facebook is adding tools to make it easier for users to report so-called "revenge porn" and to automatically prevent the images from being shared again once they have been banned, the company said. "Revenge porn" refers to the sharing of sexually explicit images on the internet, without the consent of the people depicted in the pictures, in order to extort or humiliate them. The practice disproportionately affects women, who are sometimes targeted by former partners. Beginning on Wednesday, users of the world's largest social network should see an option to report a picture as inappropriate specifically because it is a "nude photo of me," Facebook said in a statement. The company also said it was launching an automated process to prevent the repeat sharing of banned images. Photo-matching software will keep the pictures off the core Facebook network as well as off its Instagram and Messenger services, it said.

I begin here my testimony and testament to that fateful night. A word aside, I’m consulting the bartendress I’ve come to know and trust after witnessing that night’s events. This blog therefore suffers no bias, and the spectacular events have two to confirm. It began a night like any other. I was out at a club in my home town of Liverpool with my girlfriends, and we were feeling a little fruity and looking for fun. That was what we were hoping for. But it was quite the opposite. I was lured into His trap like a starling being lured into a hornet’s nest by the pheramoans and entroncing drone of the hornet. It was the most botched encounter of my life. I feel used, I feel abused, and I am not amused.

      Wrapped Around Your Finger

He was my childhood idle. At age fifteen, I saw him in concert. I saw him looking right at me in the crowd. Did he want me? Another glance, yet another glance, and then another! How could he see me so far back in the general stands. I did not know, but I knew if I persisted, I had a chance. It was not until the next year that I was able to see him closely. I’d arranged to find the spot after the show as his band went on tour again. Perfectly, Sting walked by and I tried to get his autograph. I was well made up and easily the prettiest girl in the crowd if not prettier. I’m a tree-like 180cm to begin with and was wearing platforms, so he couldn’t miss me. And that he didn’t. I was standing like a guard in a watch tower, looking down upon all the people, and we made genuine eye contact for at least a minute as he walked down the hall back to the dressing rooms. I tried to get his autograph, but he continued walking. He was going to be harder to get than I wanted to admit.

      Bring On The Night

I never again saw Sting until the Fateful Night. My girlfriends and me were wildly into Dub Step and we were dancing on the dance floor. We grinded upon each other and were having a jolly time getting the younger blokes’ attention spans. Some of them were pretending to ignore us and payed attention to the women they were with. The night wound on and on and we got a little squiffy. The world was starting to lighten up and everything everyone said was fun and humourous. This is when I got Stung.

He entered the room wearing a bath robe over tank top and a boxer’s shorts. He had a toothbrush or a cigar in his mouth and walked over to the counter and ordered a drink. I new that look from everywhere. Even at this age, he couldn’t hide it. That cute boyish mischevious look. He looked directly at me. I knew this was finally my chance decades later. I walked up and tried to sound smart and said “Guten Tog”. He laughed and said “That’s Guten Abednego, mine hair, but the pleasure is mine. Sting’s the name. I’m.Sting.. What’s yours, my dear? Franken Zee Doitsch!” I was awestruck! It WAS Sting and he sounded quite educated to correct me on such a foolish attempt at German.

Sting told me that he was in the club for his evening drink, a refined concoction consisting of lapsang soushong tea, stout, scotch, and I think Irish cream. There was some kind of cream in there. And now knowing His tastes, I would not be surprised if he’d ordered that with a side of battery acid and liquid air freshener or even stagnant pond water. Anyway. Sting was very chatty. He bought me a shot. He called it the Sting’s specialty or something like that, but it was a simple neat shot of American whiskey. I was to drink it immediately. Then he ordered me another drink. He told me to drink that more slowly and was just testing my reflexes. We both laughed as we looked into his eyes.

He shared with me the news of his recent accomplishments. He had been working on a new movie about dragnet operations and was supposedly to become the host of a television programme featuring poisonous insects. He explained how he was still t

Look, I'm not going to deny that some women (and men) like assholes. There's no accounting for taste and people are weird. However there's a huge tendency for the forever alone crowd to go round the circular reasoning of "that's guy's so successful with women so he's clearly an asshole. Women like assholes".

Thing is a common type of asshole has personality traits which are superficially what a lot of people like. For example, confidence and not wallowing in whiny self pity the the whole time. Those traits are almost universally liked by people, men and women alike. Some assholes have those traits, but plenty of non assholes do. The "women like assholes" myth comes from a combination of observing superficial personality traits without getting to know the guy (who's the shallow one now, eh) and a self defense mechanism to put the blame else where.

It's not my fault I don't attract women when I never shower, shave or wear clean clothes. It's the fault of women because they keep dating assholes rather than me (definition: asshole, n., anyone who isn't me who a woman dates).

Thanks for the article. However, Daily Mail is not that good with statistics. In this case the “216,000” or 4,5% who where “sexually victimized” [0], but the 90,479 were rape cases. To be precise, sexual victimization includes rape, but also groping[1].

Methodology is also different. The prison stats were obtained by surveys, but general population stats are registered cases with police. Since rape is notoriously under-reported this number does not represent count of actual rapes.

The whole "rape culture" propaganda points a finger at men in general, ignoring that many men are also victims. For some reason it's politically correct to say that the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists, but at the same time "men" in general are guilty for the alleged rape culture, even though the rapists are a tiny proportion of the male population.

Even though men are also victims, the perpetrators are still mostly men. Can women rape men or other women? Yes, but men do it more. Perhaps I am reading different media, but the feminist propaganda I get is about cultural norms that make rape acceptable (when a guy rapes a girl, she must have behaved slutty and deserved it; if a girl rapes a guy, it just funny). If you listen carefully, feminists usually blame “patriarchy”, which, believe it or not, does not mean “all men”. There are women who prop up this culture and there men who fight it. We can discuss it in detail, if you want to.

On a personal note, I believe tackling rape in prisons is as important as tackling rape in general population. However, methods might be different, since the environments are so very different. Anyway, what are we arguing about?
