Google To Stop Supporting Public URL Submissions To Its Search Index (searchengineland.com)
Google announced this week that it is discontinuing the public method of submitting URLs to its search index. The "addurl" page, which is still listed in this help document, now redirects to the Google Search Console login page. From a report: Google Webmasters said, "We've had to drop the public submission feature." The company did not say why it was necessary to drop it. Maybe it has to do with spam issues or abuse. Google added, "... but we continue to welcome your submissions using the usual tool in Search Console and through sitemaps directly." The last time Google updated the submit content tool was back in 2012, when it moved it to the classic Google Webmaster Tools URL. Google says webmasters should submit content only through Search Console's Fetch as Google tool or via sitemaps.

Google is simply changing from Webmaster Tools to Search Console. One product is replacing the other, and they've been in this slow transition for about a year now. There is no reason for sensationalist news, its just a new name and new UI for the exact same feature set.
Dear Google, you could continue to offer the public URL submission page. Just because it is there doesn't mean it has to work or actually do anything. It just needs to appear as if it accepted the submission. Statistical analysis could identify patterns that identify spammers.

This test confirms it. They DO all look the same! It's not just my unchecked bias, a computer has the same problem telling minorities apart. But of course they will blame something else for this... Truth doesn't matter if it's not PC enough and doesn't virtue signal that "we're all the same! yay!!" even though the top 20% of colored people are still dumber ( IQ ) than half ( 50% ) of the white population. Oh, I forgot, that's because the IQ test is biased against "inner city" kids, but only if they're black.

It has done nothing at all for the last year any ways. I submitted a new company website and it was still not indexed 6mo later. I eventually used the search console submission tool and they indexed it after 2wk, but my site still doesn't fucking show up unless you google the domain name itself. I can search the entire company name and I get 20 pages of mostly unrelated crap, along with a handful of spots we show up on previously indexed sites, but it goes to 'sorry nothing left we haven't shown you' before ever displaying my domain.
Bing, duckduckgo, and every other search engine had the domain as first result within a month, but GOOG is just like fuck off.
