WannaCry is Still Dominating Ransomware (axios.com)

An anonymous reader writes: WannaCry, once the greatest cybersecurity calamity in history, now doesn't work. A website critical to its function is now controlled by civic-minded security researchers, and the fixed deadline to pay the ransom has long passed. Yet WannaCry still accounts for 28% of ransomware attacks -- the most of any ransomware family. According to a new study by Kaspersky Lab, the defanged North Korea linked ransomware is still spreading uncontrollably. The spreading mechanism that passed WannaCry from victim to victim that was so virulent in the 2017 attack is still active, even if the ransomware itself isn't. The firm discovered that since the WannaCry outbreak in May 2017 has affected 74,621 users across the globe.

    I mean how doesn't?????? If you are an organization that doesn't you need to fire all of you IT staff, and higher anyone with half a brain.

      I'm still on Win7 sp1, didn't install the Wannacry patch until last week. Probably still don't need it.

If there's actually impersonation going on, and you've only proved a single comment involving c6gunner, it's because you're such a rude person.     Izrael loving Slashdot loves to LIE about the origin of weaponised terror on the internet. 99% of this terror (actual trojans and ads lying about trojan infection to sell 'solutions') come from Izrael or js linked to Izreal operating in East Europe (especially the Ukraine where js and descendants of actual nazis work hand in hand).

    And Slashdot loves to serve the LIE that it is 'dodgy' outlets that serve actual trojans and fake infection warnings.

    The only trojan I ever got from a website was a mainstream media site with a massive pro-z-ionist agenda. The ultra z-ionist media group, The Guardian 'newspaper', served trojans to hundreds of thousands of visitors. The excuse used by the j-ish heads of these mainstream media outltets is that the fault lies with the (j-ish owned) ad agencies.

    Funny thing is, in LAW, if a non-j knowing allowed their outlet to be used for criminal activity, they would be prosecuted. One law for 'the chosen' (like the child raping j Polanski) and another for the rest of us.

    For the js, terror bombing civilian cities in Gaza, and serving us trojans is part of the same continuum. Keeping the 'cattle' in their place, and exploiting the 'cattle' whenever possible.

    You will notice the people who run the trojan infection services AND the fake trojan warnings are NEVER prosecuted. Oh, non-js who run botnets have certainly been sent down. But never ever the j-ish criminals behind the ransomware and fake trojan warning scams.

    It gets worse. Microsoft codes backdoors into windows for the NSA. Knowledge of these expoits are passed on to the butchers of Izrael for use in their satanic wars on their 'sub-Human' enemies. People in the Izreali security depts passs on info about these exploits to j-ish criminal gangs in Ukraine. At which time new attacks hit our machines. After giving the j-ish crooks time to make a profit, Microsoft then 'patches' these exploits, but the patches simply introduce new back doors, and the cycle repeats.

    Snowden revealed the extent to which j-ish dominated American tech companies work for the NSA- before Snowden j-sh disinfo agents blitzed outlets like Slashdot warning that anyone who dared suggest such a thing was a 'tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nutcase'.

    Unpunished crime multiplies. Roman Polanski drugged and anally raped a little girl (and was CONVICTED for this demonic act)- yet was helped by fellow js to escape to child-rape friendly France, where Polanski BOASTED of his love for sex with children. Polanski was then assisted by powerful french and british showbiz js to continue making movies. THIS is how little the j-ish community fears the laws that apply to the rest of us.

    Years later child rapist Polanski was helped to win a major Oscar by Spielberg, and at that year's Oscar ceremony, every major j present stood up and CHEERED child rapist Polanski - and each and every j knew that Polanski was a fugitive child rapist.

    This community believes that criminal acts against 'sub-Humans' is essential to dominance. This is why yesterday's terror bombing of Gaza has near zero coverage in the mainstream media under j-ish control.
