On the Euro and Keyboard Mappings

Christian Schaller wrote in with this interesting question: "Is the Linux fonts and standard keyboard mappings being updated to allow the Euro sign? Anybody have a timeframe on such a update? I notice that on new workstations that the Euro sing is available when pressing AltGR & E (Norwegian layout), but the only system I have seen supporting this at the moment is NT with service pack 4." Come to think about it, has anyone aside from Microsoft picked up on the euro sign yet?
