How can you Make htdig Search Sites w/ International Characters?

Vaggelis asks: "I'm running htdig search engine on my site. English search works great . Unlikely, I have problems with greek characters , although it recognises the characters it doesn't search them. What should I do? Should I change the locale settings or what? The greek encoding is: ISO-8859-7. Please HELP!"
