Applixware Office for LinuxPPC announced
haaz writes "Applix Inc.
has formally announced Applixware Office for LinuxPPC,
and a bundling deal with LinuxPPC Inc. The product was shown
during the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, and met a very warm
reception.
Cheers! "
And is there some way to use it to generate PDF files?
unfortunately, i can't get the 2.2pre kernels to work w/ my powermac, so if 2.2 doesn't work, this isn't going to mean anything. 2.1.127 is the latest that works for me.

Tell them sheepshaver guys to hurry up and code and I will never boot into MacOS again.
(Not that I haven't in a while, that sucker's collecting dust)
Does anyone know of a quality GPL alternative to Applix? I just ordered R5 of LinuxPPC and I wanna keep my G3 as GNU as possible.
XEmacs, Maxwell, AbiWord...
If you want to keep main memory free, try Joe...
btw can you post some lmbench result of it?

Note that Applix is also bundling R5 of LinuxPPC
for $129.
I was originally going to just pick up a copy of R5, but this is making me stop & think.
We really oughta reward Applix for noticing us
PPC Linuxers with a purchase, y'know?

".sig,
I'm happy to see this, and hope that it helps LinuxPPC become more and more popular.
Now, lets hope for WordPerfect and Star as well!
