Where can you find Older Netscape Browsers?
This Anonymous Coward asks:
"I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a site
where one can get copies of Netscape Navigator 3.01 (or is
that 3.0.1)? I need this for a firewall that is configured
over the web, and for some reason only works with 3.01 and
not the later versions from Netscape and Microsoft."
Netscape has a ridiculously unnavigable http site,
but I found the following link from there (it works). It gets you to all the old stuff.
ftp://archive.netscape.com/archive/index.html
ftp://archive:oldies@archive.netscape.com/archive/ index.html
That wouldn't be a Borderware Firewall Server v4, would it?
I used to work for a reseller and this was a problem. The Java applets used made various assumptions about the JVM provided with Navigator 3.01 that didn't hold in later versions.
I had one saved on my home file server, so knew the filename. After a Hotbot search, I found a handful of the old versions of Netscape. Check out http://am.net/lib/TOOLS/Netscape/ which is an ISP who has them archived..
Go to http://www.netscape.com/download/archive/index.htm l Joseph Elwell.
Netscape has an archive site that has a lot of the older browsers 2.2-4.05 including 3.01. also they have them for different platforms and languages http://www.netscape.com/download/archive/index.htm l
Are you looking for the windows version?
once your there click on the most popular browsers.
it should be near the top.
