Free Icon Repository?

Gus asks: "Is there a repository for free X icons, preferably in the XPM format?" Several FTP sites have an icon section, but I'm not aware of any that do icons only. Do these really exist? What about web-based icon repositories?

    OctobrX's great site http://themes.org has great icons and tiles, and I've created a little collection at http://nether.tky.hut.fi/iconstore/ where you can find links to artists' sites.

    Icons are a subsection of one of the many sections at themes.org. Currently http://themes.org/resources/ holds the collection of Icons available at themes.org. This section is being redone and will be presented in a very well-done manner in the near future.
