Pictures from Linux Demo Day Demonstration
Ron Petty writes "This weekend the University of Kentucky Linux Users Group proved that with no money you can make a difference. Linux Demo was going in full swing this weekend and we did out share by doing it with members equipment and donated distros. We are trying to help everyone help themselves. So if you are in education and missed out on this event you might want to check out UKLUGS site and we can help you do the same and help promote linux. " LDD is a great concept - I think it's something that ever LUG should look into doing. Click here for the pictures.
The Linux at LAX LUG held a demo days 2 weeks ago aswell.. it was quite cool.. lots of knowledgeabl people attended and they gave away free distros and even a computer
LDD in Chennai in my opinion was a great hit.More people than expected turned up and photos were taken using a digital camera.I thought our News will make it into Slashdot but somebody got there before us :-(.Hey but I feel we did a better job And Thanx to Loki for giving a Demo CD of MYTH 2. IT WAS JUST GREAT. We did learn a lot of new things ourselves and the most impostrant one I learnt was "Bring your own machine to LDD"
The PLUG (Phoenix Linux Users Group) is doing a number of events for the LDD. Check out the site at http://plug.phoenix.az.us and look at the meetings info page. We have had two successful demos/installfests so far. One at Radioshack.com (formerly TechAmerica) and at Viking Systems, which is a startup Linux Certification company. I'm also a member of the ASULUG (http://asulug.eas.asu.edu).
We just had ours yesterday in Boca. Got very positive response from both experienced and non-experienced people.
