Isn't the making of a new technology a reduction in the general market for the old technology? Development of the HD-DVD / Blu-ray reduced the market for the DVD which, in turn, had reduced the market for the VHS tape. Why is that any less wrong than diluting the original creation of the technology?
Or, alternatively, one could look at these acts as economic progress.
