Microsoft should just revoke every single license they have ever sold in the EU, and then sue all of the governments that use the software for copyright infringement.
Apple's OSX has and will continue to include these types of features. When I the European Union takes the same action against Apple, then it will be a fair playing field. In fact, doesn't OSX include Quicktime as well? Scrap it, fair's fair... Right EU?
