1) theyre trying to block sex offenders....but myspace doesnt ask for any ID when you sign up....it would take 2 seconds to create an account with a fake name (or even just slightly mis-spelled name) and you could use myspace all day and night
2) why is there such an emphasis on sex offenders? no other type of criminal has to go door to door and notify their neighbors, not use myspace, have their picture online in the sex offender database, etc.....has anyone actually gone through the sex offender database? so many of them are "sex with a minor", stuff like that. Hell, when i was in high school my girlfriend was 16 and i was 18, technically i could be a sex offender if a cop ever found out....it seems like a lot of them in the database are sex with a minor....you have to wonder how many were consensual, and only under 18 by a few years.....how messed up is that? you have sex with your girlfriend a few years younger than you, you have to register the rest of your life, tell your neighbors, get your myspace account deleted, etc....but a murder doesn't have to do any of that....
I took a trip up to canada a while back (where everything was in metric, obviously) but i went into a subway and they still had 6" and foot long sandwiches. i asked the kid who worked there "so if you guys use the metric system, how do you know how long a 6 inch sub is?"
he didnt seem too amused.
i wonder if subway uses inches all around the world. and if theyve ever considered calling them 15.24 cm sandwiches in some countries....
I remember starting my own BBS with firstclass when i was about 12 and calling it FART online....I came up with the acronym "Files And Remote Telecommunications". So stupid, but at 12 the name amused me endlessly. I even remember buying Courier V. Everything modems through the SYSOP program, so they were only $250 each instead of $500 that they cost retail....
