Dynavox systems are fantastic. I actually have one with me right now to take to my father who is in the hospital. With one button you can easily, although it takes a little time, type out things for it to say, emails and control tv's with the IR port. It is a really fantastic system.
The other cool gadget are camera mice. A camera follows the motion of a small reflective dot on a person.
