I work for a company that owns several dialup ISP's and I hear about this all the time. Our customers believe someone has hijacked their PC or their email account when it is just someone spoofing their address. Usually the only thing to be done about it is a message rule to filter them out, unfortunately.
I really don't care who is reading this. The government has no right to spy on American citizens (at least not without due process). We founded this country on freedoms that they are trampling all over whilst trying to justify it all with "national security". These agencies that are violating our rights need to be held accountable for their actions and the people involved need to be adequately punished. Justice must be served.
when did I ever say that everyone needs every new piece of tech? use the example from the article. anyone still using netscape needs to come about 10 years into the current time and try firefox.

I find your insults amusing. I was speaking in generalizations. There are always a few exception to every rule but they are by no means the majority. All new tech is going to have bugs to work out, this is a fact of life. You are also twisting my words. I am not saying buy everything new, nor am I saying adopt every new tech. I only saying that most of the time, Newer tech us superior to older and it is wise to move forward instead of letting yourself stagnate in the past. I really don't care what tech devices you use. I just find it sad that people still use PC's with Windows 95 and 98 on it, browsers that are incapable of displaying most web content. I am taking about extreme cases like the one above. Not filling your life with every new invention.

You are inferring things from what I said that are not there. take it with a grain of salt and get of YOUR high horse. Never have I said people must adopt the newest of everything. Just that people should adopt a new tech when it proves to be better for the application in question.
Many people are just so stubborn, so set in their ways, that they are blind to innovation and practical change. It is this kind of purposeful ignorance that keeps people from learning, from growing intellectually. In my line of work, doing tech support, I run into this every single day. The older generations, 40+ have no concept of technology and most of them don't want to. There are people in this day and age who still do not own a computer. Not because they cannot afford it or do not have a use for it, but because they fear it or because they are too lazy to learn how to use it. This is often the case with new tech also. If it requires any sort of effort to learn, people try to pretend its not there and stick with what they have until it is no longer a viable option. This saddens me greatly.

There's this thing called the fossil record... we use an accurate measurement called radio carbon dating to determine an object's age. If you seriously believe that dinosaurs and people coexisted then you are indeed a very deluded individual. Is it that difficult to believe that perhaps god gave his creations the ability to evolve, to adapt and change with an environment that is in perpetual flux? Honestly. Get your head out of your rear end and pick up a 5th grade science book.
