Can I drop in the latest and greatest SLI card?? What about the latest and greatest RAM or Sound Cards or etc... Sure you can upgrade, but hardly the latest and greatest available. Oh and what about the latest and greatest chipsets? Heck Ive got a set of hardware sitting there looking for an OS, but there is Zero way for me to get OSX running on it even though it should technically be just fine running the OS.
That is what really holds me back from the switch. I like OSX, but don't like the locked nature of Mac hardware. Id easily switch over if I could make quick and easy upgrades to my PC hardware. The OS is nice, but the hardware holds it back for me. Oh and gaming is still an issue, but I could easily ignore that given the opportunity to run on the hardware that I choose.
Still no word on Verizon support or unlocked versions of the phone so Ill still pass. I have zero desire to switch back to Cingular/AT&T any time soon. They need and open version for those of us more than conent with our current providers and service. Until then, Ill stick to the competitions phones and my current MP3 player.
Id like a phone/DAP/PDA combo, but I have zero plans to switch carriers. They should have sold the phones unlocked with the option to choose your own carrier. Then there is the lack of a tactile interface. I often dial by feel rather than sight, with a touchscreen, that is now not a possability. Finaly, the lack of a physical keyboard is another downer for me. I HATE using on screen keyboards, and really fail to see how this one will be any better than others. At least give us a slide out keyboard or maybe a stylus. Then again, I don't plan to switch to cingular/AT&T so it really doesn't matter to me anyway. So close, but not quite right.
Loose the DRM and Ill switch to buying all my music there. Until then forget it, my player isn't an Ipod. I hope the drop is simply more people seeing the restrictions from DRM...

Or simply becuase there are MANY who do not wish to switch to Cingular/AT&T wireless.
