I wouldn't want to stand in front of a judge with this sort of Spicoli argument, but... Given: I am the sole shareholder of a corporation for my consulting business. And given: Many laws consider the corporation itself to be a distinct "person" separate from myself. Therefore, might the law also consider that even when I am driving without passengers, there is more than one "person" (ie, multiple occupants) in the car thus allowing me to appropriately drive in the HOV lane? (Yeah, that's it...)
The professor is probably correct. However, terrorism may be merely an excuse to search for other things for which there are a significant number of training points.
And a smart strategy for the Democrats to take is to force him to use that VETO stamp again, again, and again on many very reasonably titled bills full of junk. When presidential elections come up in a couple of years, they will be sing from the rooftops about how the Republican President veto'd the "Families First" bill," the "Support Our Troops" bill, the "Responsible Health Care" bill, the "Crime Free America" bill...
