In my current day job, in order to work I have: Two desktop PCs with one 17" screen on each,One sits on the coporate network and the other on the Internet. Working on one screen on both these computers ( as they are not allowed to be networked ) is totally impractical, I cant copy and paste between them so a fair bit of copy typing goes on. If I had one screen for everything, the only advantage I can see would be that my field of vision would be filled by a 30" screen, this would be less distracting. The main benifit I can detect is for the Screen manufacturers, you have one working screen and they sell you another bigger one, that costs a lot more.. perhaps with a bigger profit margin
