    In the realm of basic physics, you are absolutely right. But in the context of more advanced physics... I'm not quite sure.

    When we say the sea level is going to raise by 5cm, we mean on average. But locally it may be very different. To cite some facts, there in the lake Michigan, the average water level in May from year to year changes only by a few cm, if we don't see some very unusual weather. However at some location in the lake, the water level actually changes by meters.

    What you said will be true if the so called "sea level" is a perfect flat surface. However, the Earth, as a water ball is quite bumpy and is shaped by gravitational force, tidal force, structure of the seabed, and ocean current. The few centimeter overall difference can easily be magnified locally by the factors above.

    and I thought you cannot be stupid and become a Ph.D. I guess this guy is a counterexample that disproved my conjecture.

    So what is nullity - nullity? Does it equal to 0/0 - 0/0 = (0*0-0*0)/(0*0) = 0/0 = nullity? And what does 3*nullity equal to 3*0/0 = 0/0 = nullity? If the answer is yes, this nullity does not interact with other real number at all. And its only purpose being there is to be the answer of 0/0 and 0^0.

    Now let me show you how to solve the famous Fermat's Last Theorem problem. Define "dog", "cat", "rabbit" to be the number outside the integers to be the solution of X^n + Y^n = Z^n for some n>2. Then if you want to try, we actually have

    dog^n + cat^n = rabbit^n

    and n > 2, Yeah!!!! I just solved the Fermat's last theorem, I think I deserve the Fields medal!!!

    For those who can understand, real number is not just a set, it is also a additive group and a metric space. Apparently this guy does not even know this.

    Piracy is THE best friend of Microsoft in China. Now most Chinese assume Windows is a fundamental part of computers just like wheel is to a car. When Windows is pretty much free, why do you need Linux for? For freedom? What the hell is that.

    This article just doesn't make any sense, and it wasted me 10 minutes. &^$&^&^%&^$!

    Which database then? How can each small website access such a database, if exist at all. And what about personal blog, running on personal server? It just seems technically not yet possible, unless all small/personal website are going to be banned.

    No, they cannot. I'm from China. Just to show you some facts: One of my bank account (which is used for ebay) is under a fake name (the Chinese equivalence of John Smith). The name on my ISP account is fake. My utility bill is always send to a person died 1182 AD. And the name on my cellphone bill is, guess what, fake. None of these involve any underground or high-tech work, and all I did was to lie when being asked.

    Knowing these, do you still think real name mean real name?

    Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe many people will be sent to prison because of this, but it won't take long for Chinese people to figure out how to lie.

    PS, In U.S., cellphone, credit card, ISP, and pretty much everything else require real name (worse than that actually: SSN), but somehow people did not care at all.

    Crucial to this was the introduction of the debate, something that only occured once, in Greece.

    That's silly, it seems the way you reach the conclusion is very un-scientific itself. Have you even have any idea about the history of mathematics, logic, philosophy, and political theory of ancient China? To give you some basic fact, which can be found in any introductory book on this subject. Debate was common and institutionalize. Debate was an important way via which acient Chinese study logic, philosophy, as well as potical theory. There were professional debaters. There were books on how to and how to not debate. At least there were the case in 1st millennium BC. To verify my claim, all you have to do is to randomly pickup 20 books on philosophy written in that time, and you will see at least half of them looks like record of debates.
