Come on, dog - this is not a tools issue. It's process that will set you free. Good release, change, and config practices are essential in any environment - and can work with any tool set (even tho you may decide some of your tools suck and change them, any tool will suck in a crappy process). Remember - it's a poor craftsman who blames his tools.
