Hmmm, I think it's free because the operators haven't got a billing solution for roaming GPRS yet. That's why most operators doesn't support GRPRS roaming.
Even if it's nice to know that your GPRS modem works in 160 countries, it's not half as fun carrying those 160 SIMs with you when you travel:-//tc
