How is a hands free set any different from actually have a ocnversation with say your wife, or the kids in the back? Is speaking to be banned altogether?
Actually I'm not routing for any one company/engine.
As I've said elsewhere already, competition is good. Anyone that relies on a single source for their information gathering is risking seeing only one side of the story. This applies to Google et al as much as it does to Fox.
Mod me down as far as you like, but I'm liking what I've seen so far. Microsoft have at least so far, providied us with a largly clean, working search engine as a rival to Google and a lesser extent Yahoo. Competition is good; they should be applauded.
We run SuSe over a cluster of several hundred servers. Extremely easy to deploy, very secure out of the box and it supports auto-updates which saves us a world of admin time.
Base install w/apache, mysql and mod_backhand takes about thirty minutes to online.
Fair comment. The 40 billion is his cash in hand though. Including stock we're looking at more like 80-100. Besides which, how much does one man reasonabley need to live on?
At this level Gates is simply paying lip service to charity. He has over 40 *billion* in the bank. That's enough to end povery the world over... twice!
It's a start and believe me, I'd never lok a gift hors eint he mouth, but this is akin to me pledging £4.50. Everything is relative.
While I'm very impressed with the javascipting behind this and indeed the speed of return from Google's network, I really don't see why it is being treated as revolutionary.
It could potentually save a user some time, but could equally slow down their search by confusing with a multitude of options.
Of course they don't; they hope to make several thousand out of 5% of the total people on earth and several hundred thousand out of.2$ of the total people on earth.
How many females do you knwo that like to sit in their garage on a sunday and tincker with a car? The same theory applies to software by and large; it's all about boys and toys.
There are lot of comments about the relative cost of hard disks (i.e. not much), but nothing on the cost of bandwidth. This is where applications such as this will hit Google hard.
...and on. how stupid? Pokemon isn't a more advanced model - it's a game. Game Boy is the biggest selling cosole of all time. It's 15 years old. Game boy advanced is the newest system update. Facts mean prizes gentlemen...

I like your debating style. To the point and backed up with rational insight. Fool.

This won't last long. One of the reaosns Google and others can offer so much space is that they're confident that it won't be used.
Most bandwidth is paid for monthly in advance for a fixed rate. You're only hurt on this front if you pay by the gig.
V. true. Mind you, 25/month for a 512 is better value than $1500/month for a T1. Even with the exchange rate where it is!
