I am loathe to draw conclusions fom a blurb about a report, but three things strike me:
1. The blurb stipulates "at current levels of consumption." And i feel pretty good that global population will stabilize and that India and China will immediately cease industrializing. Because otherwise, "current consumption levels" become sort of irrelevant.
2. Even in this scenario, we're hearing that we have 24 years before production plateaus, and then 100-odd years before there's a problem. So really, we're really just quibbling about dates, not the phenomenon itself.
3. With regard to fossil fuel, good to remember that no one is making any new dinosaurs.
