Good point, this would be the only way they could do this, but it would not be so much of an email tax as a Internet tax.

How exactly could they "Tax" email? Who would pay the tax, the person sending or receiving? Also how would they, you do not need to enter in a SS#/credit card #, street address for an email account. Also what about email accounts that are operated outside the US? What would stop every one signing up for a Canadian email account that is not taxed? The fact is there is NO way anyone could tax email, and if any one thinks the US government can, well they really do not understand how the internet actually works.

I think the issue is they market unlimited access. For example if a restaurant advertise a meal as "All you can eat" but then they cut customers off after their 3rd plate I assume most would think this is bad business or false advertising. I really think the issue is they are being sold "Unlimited Access" but really they do not get it unlimited access. I guess the difference is when you walk into a restaurant you do not sign a contract with fine print before you eat your all you can eat meal. Either way its deceptive.

  4. Great opportunity for linux on PS3 Linux Now Installable · · Score: 1

This could be a HUGE opportunity for linux. I mean all PS3 will have the same hardware, some one could create a fast lean stripped down distro specifically complied for the PS3 hardware. It wouldn't be hard to make a distro that "Just worked" as you know exactly what hardware everyone will have. The user will not have to install any drivers or install linux to find out their network card is unsupported. Think Millions of people will have this linux compatable computer sitting in their living room. Create a specialized live cd/dvd for it, with some multi-media apps and kids will install linux so they can have a home media center, After millions of kids install linux that "just works" on their PS3 they will want to install linux on their computer, or at least not view linux as that weird "Other Operating system".
