  1. What is so "insightful" about this post? on AMD Officially Rolls Out 1Ghz Athlon · · Score: 2

Maybe "full of old ideas" but not "insightful"... Sure, it used to be easy to show how RISC was more elegant than CISC but that was years ago guys. There have been hundreds of improvements to the x86 line that are quite innovative. Sun doesn't advertise it's CPU speeds because they're not so great. Unisys kills Sun's UE10000 with it's new Windows 2000 offering. Slamming IDE? Again, this isn't the IDE of old. IDE has had huge innovations. Ultra-ATA/66 blows away most SCSI alternatives in both price and cost.

Wow, he's more out of touch than I thought!!!

I supposed it's ok to download binary bits and run them but if you download them and run them in your browser, it's a no-no. Way to stop innovation Judge Jacko.

You forgot the most interesting excerpt. The one where Linux is listed as a fringe operating system instead of a real OS like Warp or MacOS.

Of course this is great for Microsoft because it only shows the slant of the judge and how harmful his opinion is.

  7. Linux declared a FRINGE OPERATING SYSTEM on Microsoft == Monopoly says Judge · · Score: 0
Yeah I especially enjoyed the judge ruling Linux to be a Fringe Operating System -- not a real contender like Warp and MacOS.

This shows how out of touch the judge was.

... and given no meaningful respect. I guess that shows how out of touch the judge was and how potentially harmful his ruling is.

It has now been ruled by a federal judge that LINUX IS A FRINGE OPERATING SYSTEM.

Thank's to Dave's religion, Trish is stuck without a usable web browser. Face it: Windows is more apporopriate for the average user. If you want some screwed up hackers box then use Linux, but don't make your wife suffer. I sure don't. In fact, I hope to God that my wife never knows what "kill -9" is. What a senseless waste of braincells. Go ahead and be smug. Sacrifice your PC's any usable software in the name of "bill gates sux." Enjoy your glib-c's and glib-g's and all the other crap normal people could care less about. Maybe you can attend a Team Warp rally. Microsoft and Apple rule Computerdom because they have taken the time to see what users care about not what just the nerds care about... and they're laughing all the way to the bank.

  10. Why does this surprise anyone? War? Constitution? on CTO is Too Young for Comdex · · Score: 1

I'm not sure why this surprises anyone. In case you forgot, ageism is not against the law in this country. When there was too much racism we fought a war, for sexism we ammended the constitution, but, really who gives a rats ass about that small portion of the population who is under 25 or over 65? A couple years ago when I was 25, I tried to rent a car but I had to pay extra because of my age. I was merely 24 with only 8 years of driving experience. I asked the guy if he gave females a discount and charged hispanics more. Same problem on the upper end of age. How many times have I seen programming candidates not taken seriously during an interview because they were too old?

What do you mean common myth? Where's the myth? A 19 year old soldier still cannot go into a regular bar and buy a beer. Who cares if the army made a special watering hole for the troops. That doesn't change anything.
