  1. Re:The future is NOT in their hands. on Up, Up, Down, Down: Part Three · · Score: 1

obviously you didnt read the artice well.. i agree with the writer for the most part...

and your example is flawed... i played games and do play games about x*4 or x*5 from the numbers he gave a day... and i program for a multi billion dollar company making 60k/year my first year out of college this year... so according to your argument which is not at all valid where do i fit in ? yes thats right... he has good points to make and though his numbers may not be dead on yours are even further off than his...

  2. Depends on the Human.... on Are Virtual Worlds Worth It? · · Score: 2

Yesteryears computer games mainstream where what people wanted, then they began to want more from them. Whats the point of playing a game even if you win you get no return right? Hence Multiplayer games. Whats the point of playing online when you just repeat over and over and over what you do, this is fun for a while or once in a while but every day or every other day? Hence MMPOG (massivly multiplayer online games,
did i get that right?). Where you have a history and a future, but are not bound to it, starting over or reversing your gameplay is possible. You can both the bad and good guy. You can interact in ways other than fight, win/loose, fight win/loose.... you make friends, enemies even stress over these types of games... eventually people will want more. As a whole if you say the games are funner becuase they fullfill the users craving for more of a second-third life with all that comes with it including stress and long term emotion, then your answer is yes. The games are funner in the respect that they portray life as people want to live theirs but may not be able to.
The gameplay has also got better:
    1. AI
    2. Graphics
    3. Sound
    4. Scalability
    5. Human interaction
    6. Controls
    7. Voice integration
    8. Ongoing and everchanging (MMPOG)

this is something i think i will def. boycott...
Linux.NET? so in my opinion everyone should rush to buy one or more of any .net that isnt already taken and get trademarks on any bob.NET you can before someone else *cough cough* does ... again the earlier story on slashdot amazes me still that they can do campaigning on something that is so widley used around the world in a different font (lower case) is utterly amazing i hope somehow this is overturned :)*

  6. The very idea is insane... !!! on British Telecom, Hyperlinking And Mr. Englebart · · Score: 1

I read the original article on slashdot when this came out and every since then i have been thinking that is probably the worst example of stupidity ive ever seen.. The very idea that you can own clicking on something that takes you somewhere else is like saying Roddenburgh owns half the things he thought up years ago... he had 3.5 inch floppys pretty close years before they showed up and he could easily argue that he owns the ideas of things like PDAs or various medical devices that (tricorder) I'm not a pattent specialist but if i were an employee of a company that claimed to have a pattent on something like this or the look of a computer I would seriously consider the reasons that i was still working for them.. :(* The Country will be a lot better off after the next revolution... are you ready?
