  1. Former Best Buy Employee on Best Buy Confirms 'Secret' Version of its Website · · Score: 1

From what we understood in our store, it was not meant to "bait and switch". We never used the intranet site because we knew it was not connected to up-to-date sale prices. Never were we told to use it to cheat customers, nor did that idea ever get mentioned.

Just giving the simple and straight-foward facts from a salesperson perspective.

    (Ohio University sophmore here.)

As many have said before, this is just the number of people getting caught. Seriously, most of the kids here are not the brightest bulbs when it comes to not getting caught downloading music.

I run a basic computer services business here for experience and some income. I'd say 90% of the people I help have limewire installed and when I ask them a few questions, few to none understand how the university can track what they're doing. The ones that do simply don't care. Ignorance is bliss apparantely.

As bad it sounds, that is absolutely true. Unfortunately, many managers do stress more about selling our services than the computers themselves. Ultimately, I try to know as much as I can about as much as I can to truly help my customers. The company does try to make all the information easily accessible, so if a customer has a question, we don't have to guess, and we can give the customer an informed answer.

As a Best Buy employee, working in computer sales, I would like to wholeheartedly agree with this.
