Anyone who attempts to cover the same ground (even years later) has a tough act to follow. I think Mr. Love would agree whole-heartedly. I believe it was the lackluster APUE 2e (Rago's revision of Stevens's work) which motivated Robert to produce this work. Robert's book is much more concise and useful to a linux developer when compared to APUE 2e, where much attention is devoted to unix implementations other than linux.
Boy that brings back some memories. When I was in college, my crotch was the subject of much hyperbole. Oh crocheting... never mind.
