Time for paid services with explicit privacy protection. There is a good business case for this, I think, but will require thoughtful way to market to the masses. Any ideas?
They don't necessarily keep good track of your x-rays and such, I was given the impression from an orthopedic guy. Not to mention hand-written notes that are impossible to decipher. But good to know the rules, though.
Sounds dubious to me. Public at large may not have had much interest in the 80's, but for the researchers in the field, the data set remains the basis of their work stretching decades, hence a valued archive at the least if they have any respect for their own work. So they lost it, and yet conveniently use it as base for a theory and policy recommendation asking the world to restructure our economy.
Sad thing is those who believe in AGW should be the first ones to question CRU and extract answers, but for the most all I see is wagon-circling.
Of course, whenever we have those HIGYALD (Hey, I've Got Yet Another Linux Distro) stories, there is always at least one post similar to yours, asking why it's news. And there's always at least one response to that post, explaining that alternatives are great - which is true here as well, so the circle is now complete.
Everyone knows that. Why are you posting such a redundant comment?
Really, what's the point of posting a story of another unremarkable and very limited webserver? It's cool by me if kdawson simply found it on the top of the stack so he clicked bugger. I mean, it's not like I'm paying to browsing here. That what's going on here? Like I said, you know, it's all good by me. But I'm curious, you know, and... well, you know what I am saying, right?
'China, you see, is really just the place where most of the other components that go inside the iPod are shipped and assembled.'
Well, that's how it starts. Some places, like Mexico seems, is happy to do just that. But other places with bit more brains, like China, builds on it to take up more and more of the whole production process.
Btw, am I saying Mexico is dumb? In a way, yes. All in all, Mexico seems a lot more of a tiered society with less a sense of national unity, and she's not alone.
Some of that electronic music was created using analog synths.
Hope you feel better now that you've got that out of your chest.
But there are privacy concerns other than law enforcement issues - namely, advertising and marketing use.
That's a good point - network by definition seems to mean leakage. But I wonder if there is still value for partial privacy...

Hey, don't drag me into this ... stuff, whatever it is.
It's like the hopspitals are the restaurants of the economy where the numbers...

Well, that's mouthful, but with electronic records you can at least switch doctors without having to take X-rays, tests, and other records again. No?
Only if it's "naturally" flavored. Everyone knows the artificial, corn-fed, hormone-injected stuff is crap.
What a French-quoting snooty dope.
They must have connected the turbo button backward. Happens sometimes.

Hey, it worked. Thanks slashdot!
Even for slashdot, you with the handle "reporter" is one certifiable crackpot.

Here, burn this message onto a CD and give it to whoever you want:
RTFM, NOOB!
NO WAY!
Nothing to see here. Move along. What? Nevermind where I work.

This is the most disturbing part. Circling the wagon is the worst thing they could do.
Paging BadAnalogyGuy! There is this gmagdk guy trying to run you out of your business.
"The scientists there favor Macs"
Even the physicists turn pansy in Europe. A disgrace.
Dude, where do you think you are?
Look to your left. Look to your right.
