As far as TVs go, I think those also tend to last a long while (probably due to the fact that they don't take much abuse). My family had (until recently when it went into the annual garage sale) a little old Mitsubishi set that was manufactured before I was born. It was used for bedrooms and hauling around to gaming parties and such, and we only got rid of it because we got a couple larger TVs.
Oh, yes, LOL.
Because everyone knows the Wii is just a Gamecube, right?
Man, I thought this shit was made clear way before this thing launched.
I'll run through it again: The Wii is based on the Gamecube's architecture, which is the same as saying your new PC is based on the same as your old one. This means that developers who already know how to make games for the Cube can easily apply their knowledge to the Wii.
Again, like a new PC compared to an old one, it runs the same sort of code, but it's faster and more powerful.
LOL
Right. The Wii doesn't technically emulate games, since it has the same architecture as the Gamecube, only severely beefed up.
I'm not sure about Zelda/Metroid on the Cube, though... I was under the impression that the 3-d Zelda games, at least, were actually converted. In fact, they must be reformatted because of the GUI/text changes made due to controller differences.
You could be right about the NES Zeldas and Metroid, though.

And what about Majora's Mask? Unless I'm mistaken, it was a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time.
I don't know about you, but I still pull out my NES for Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (gameplay all the way) and my N64 for Goldeneye and the Zeldas...
