The FCC requires that you keep a mailing address (no longer your transmitting address, which would usually be your house) where you can be reached by the USPS on file with them. It could be half way across the country or the world if you want. Or just get a PO Box. Personally I don't mind and it's much easier to be able to look an address up to send a QSL card instead of having to copy it over the air.
