one of our web-chat servers regularly hits 1 to 1.2 million http requests per day, and has twice reached over 2 milion. The machine is a single pII-450 with 128M of ram, 40MB/sec adaptec scsi. I don't think it's been down or rebooted more than 4 times in the past year. 50% of the data pushed by it is dynamic, server-parsed html, or from CGI's - IBM probably would rather see their "big" machines running AIX doing the "big" jobs, so they can aim the credit at their own products, instead of a free product they just happen to support.
