I think someone just now picked up and read their copy of Back To The Moon, by Homer Hickam, who also wrote October Sky and was a shuttle pilot. The entire plot of the moon is about a former-NASA-employee-turned-engineer trying to get to the moon to collect He3 samples for fusion. Appearently the science behind this has been around for some time now ?
anyone see the image next to Streambox VCR on the former download page? X-FileGet, which downloaded RealMedia from streaming servers, and Ra2Wav (probably Streambox Ripper now) used to be made by 2B Systems (www.2bsys.com). And it looks like www.2bsys.com goes to streambox.com . Hmm.. name change, or buy out? Dunno. But I've still got those apps laying around on my weendoze partition. Btw, Anyone know of any linux app that will suck files from a Real streaming server? it'd be nice...
In the article it said that Tribal Voice was helping AT&T with its messager app. If I remember correctly, about 2.5-3 years ago, wasnt Tribal Voice the company that made PowWow? i dont know if anyone ever really used it, then ICQ came out shortly afterward. PowWow had nifty built-in voice chat as well as all the text-chat and contact list stuff. Its still around but doesn't get mentioned much.
Why is it that everyone makes such big deals over large corporations making IM app clones, but no one really says anything when there are -many- ICQ and AIM clones/clients for (example) Linux. Some people have mentioned Yahoo Pager.. I've never used it personally, but it seemed like a pathetic attempt to join the IM-bus after the success of ICQ and AIM.
yeah, i saw dumblaws.com a while back.. the one thing i found most disturbing was that in west virginia, it was legal for a male to have intercourse with an animal, if the animal was under forty pounds. scary, huh ?
