I myself started using Linux at the behest of my boyfriend about a week ago, and I would have to say Ubuntu was really easy. He walked me through some stuff, but I am really comfortable with it already.
But this is the only thing I have ever looked at, and it may be hard if you don't have someone behind you helping you, but I like it.
