  2. Self-Organizing Systems on LOGO Still Lives -- New Java-Based Version Released · · Score: 2, Informative

Last year I have cooperated in restyling the course Self-Organizing Systems. The teacher introduced me to this great massively distributed language, and it was an eye-opener. Together we have designed some fun exercises around some of the basic self-organizing properties which can be shown with StarLogo.

The students (freshmen) gave better ratings for the course after our restyling. Also, some more enthusiastic students have helped us with designing some new StarLogo apps. A real great tool for this course!

  4. Paper on XP on Extreme Programming Installed · · Score: 1

With XP being somewhat controversial it was a good topic for me to write a paper about it. The paper was submitted to pass a software engineering course at my college.

In the paper I tried answering where XP is all about, if it's new and if it's useful.
If you have a minute, check it out and I would really be appreciative of receiving comments.

  5. Making Cell Phones Interesting for Deafs on 'Texting' Takes Over The Philippines · · Score: 1

Me and my girlfriend use SMS all the time. We both bought cell phones just for that purpose, that's because my girlfriend is deaf. We study/work in the same city (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and for keeping eachother up-to-date about travelling back home (we commute by train) SMS is very useful. The costs are not bad either, 50c (about $.2) and with all the free internet sms services it's easier to do too. And getting my horoscope on my telephone every morning is pretty neat too! Oh, if anyone knows a free service that can notify you about emails on SMS, let me know! Joost AI-student
