Dell already sells Linux to some degree, and they only pay $25 for Windows. There is no deal that makes them pay more. That is a myth.

You are absolutely right. That will never change no matter what Vista (or whatever) can do that the current Mac OS can't.
My experience is the same as yours. I love the ribbon now after using it a bit. It's a big improvement. And most regular folks that i've taught Word to loved Clippy, though i could never understand it.
I think you've got it exactly right. It's good PR and Jobs is all about that.
