    "There's no big problem running a certificate authority at a moderate cost per transaction. It could probably be done effectively for about $10-$20 per certificate." And funny enough there are tonnes of vendors selling at that $10-20 level for low validation certs.

    The study didn't actually evaluate the effectiveness of EV Certificates. It evaluated the effectiveness of the mechanism used by Internet Explorer 7 to display the information contained inside SSL certificates. Big difference.
