I am not a labor lawyer but have consulted a couple being on both sides of the table. Basically, being in Texas, you are pretty much home free. As an employer, I can pretty much release an employee without any cause and in fact, was advised to simply inform the employee that his services were no longer required. At the same time, this allows an employee to pack up and leave whenever they want. It's all part of that right-to-work issue. I do agree with one of the other comments that they may hold back pay and vacation pay but ethically, they should have made you sign recognition of this at hire time.
