Linux must pass the grandma test before it is widely accepted in the homes. That simple.
A few reasons why it is not passing the granma test today:
Too many choices for granma, does she get novell's version, or red hat,/etc...
Why is one better? Will tubo tax run on it?
Is it free? How should granma get a free copy? over her dial-up?
It is not the better product that always wins, if you all remember VHS and Beta-something.
