This was bound to happen, no matter how tight someone makes a security feature. There is always a way to break it. Besides, it's not like one format is going to win over another.
The funniest thing about this format war, is the fact of seeing which movies will come out on HD-DVD, which ones will come out on Blu-ray, and then knowing the fact that EVERYONE will buy the normal DVD version.
I am a WoW player (shocking...I know). But I tried EVE one summer with all my friends and started to kinda get into it. Well eventually just simply mining bored me and I went back to WoW, but my friends stayed. They CONSTANTLY bash on WoW, saying it's the "stupid-man's" game, and how intricate and complex EVE is. I wonder what they'll think of their "high-and-mighty" game when they realize the developers are nothing but cheating scum.
When reading that article, and saw that they were going for a mothership, I knew something could not have been right. Other than the Titan-class ships, motherships are the most expensive ships in the game. And then to have all those BPO's. BPO's are EXTREMELY hard to find and worth ALOT of money (especially for those items). Someone needs to pod-kill that dev a few times.
So what have we learned today? Play WoW
I kind of agree with this article. Gaming is very exciting when playing, it can be a huge bore to watch. In fact when I die in Counter-Strike that's the one thing I dread is when I die I gotta watch these other guys play until the round is over.
However, the one major exception to my opinion is Pump It Up.
Pump It Up is essentially a Korean version of DDR but instead of 4-panels, they have 5-panels. Anyways once every November the company who makes the game has a world tournament called the World Pump It Up Festival where players from around the world come to compete for large amounts of cash ($50k+) anyways, the two major divisions (Speed and Freestyle) are the most entertaining things in my mind. Some of the freestyles are so creative and speed players are fun to watch because watching someone do something so effortlessly that you struggle so much with is insane (I play too as a Speed player...I'm decent, but no where near the level of these guys).
So honestly it's a toss up with me. I guess it depends on the game I'm watching
