While this may be a bit off-topic, with the mention of distributed.net, I thought some people would be interesting in helping the organization. By simply signing up to iGive (http://www.iGive.com/html/ssi.cfm?cid=1098&mid=91 085), distributed.net gets $10. Then, a certain percentage of all things you buy go to distributed.net and even clicks earn money for them.
While I know that I can't donate money to them, it is nice to be able to pay them back somehow. If others are interested in helping the organization, join iGive now! -- ZZWeb.net Web Hosting - http://www.zzweb.net
I just went to a newly built high school in the town I live in for my junior year, and the first day of school they give us "agendas" (pretty much most of the rules of the school, information, and a place for homework and other data) and a barcode with our SSN, our full name, and our SSN in decimal format. (While not all students school IDs are the SSNs, the majority are.) The agenda is the lifeline of a student; to get a textbook, they need that agenda; to use the restroom, they need that agenda; to get a pass, they need that agenda. And *anyone* could easily get your SSN because it *must* be posted in the back of your agenda. Aren't schools great? -- ZZWeb.net Web Hosting - http://www.zzweb.net
The userid isn't random. AFAIK, it is the user's last name and a number (which is just an incremented number based on the number of the same last names).
For example, mine is "nasal1". (I don't know of *any* of people with a last name of "Nasal", so that's why there is a 1 after it. For common names like "Jones", someone may get "jones50".) -- ZZWeb.net Web Hosting - http://www.zzweb.net
I believe an earlier version was if you configured it in a VERY certain way (which was not a normal configuration). Anyway, 1.2.7 fixes this problem although even earlier releases might have this bug fixed.
SSH 1.2.7 is probably the best version available (for cost & what you get) IMHO.
I have an AMD K6 233 Mhz, a P166, and a 486. I've been running rc5des on my AMD K6 and was running SETI@Home on the P166 and 486. I noticed the P166 and 486 seemed really lagged when connecting to them (even though they where connected via 10BaseT Ethernet). When doing a top, SETI@Home was using majority of CPU (how suprising), but a LOT of RAM too. This was on both machines, which really seemed to suprise me. On my AMD K6, rc5des was using almost no RAM.
Has anyone else noticed this? I'd like to know to see if it's just me or not. Because if it's not, I can wait for new clients and hope that the RAM usage is less.

The e-mail sent to announce@lists.mysql.org said that:
We will continue to release older releases of MySQL as GPL from time to time...
Although they may not release new versions as GPL (right now), at least older versions may become GPL'd.
