They actually work really well if used correctly. My high school used them to teach priciples of robotics to students of all ages. Just about everyone I talked to thought it was a great idea and a lot of fun. I don't think invictus was necessarily talking about a class devoted to Legos -- just one that used them to augment learning. Kind of a which would you prefer type thing: "Here's a sheet of metal -- make a robot" or "Here're some Legos and a computer -- make a robot".
